Jerry Wexler passed away today.
Sadly a good friend of mine and many others died today. Siesta Key resident and the Worlds greatest music producer Jerry Wexler.
Throughout his life he worked with the great singers of all time. Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, George Michael, Dusty Springfiled, Otis Redding. The list goes on and on.
Sarasota lost one of its most loved residents today.

No. 'Careless Whisper' was produced by Jerry Wexler using strings from a Philharmonic Orchestra. It’s a great version that was not released. Jerry believed this was because he was promised 2% royalty. The George Michael management team opted for a version with electronic sounds, however ironically George now uses Strings when he performs ‘Careless Whisper’ live. It is possible to buy the version, it was released in Asia.
